Avoidance
All humans have something that they avoid. It is natural to try to escape from that which is uncomfortable and painful. This tendency by many children and adults to avoid and run away from completing tasks, dealing with relationships, and keeping on task can be an obstacle to learning. The goal is to discover the blocks to learning, focusing, persevering, and completing tasks and assignments, allowing a person to be in choice instead of being forced.
Empowerlife Brain Integration looks for the internal stresses that lead to avoidance. We want to find the pathways of the brain and body that are trying to cope and support balancing and re-integration to help the individual find clarity and capacity to face these issues.
Another aspect of avoidance is the attachments the individual has to gaming, foods, beliefs, habits, or people. Disengaging from these attachments can create anxiety. Many individuals go through some form of separation anxiety in life. However, when it causes dysfunction, it is helpful to use our brain integration techniques to support the inner transformation of healing those attachments. Some individuals need a therapist to support them. In either case, we have found that life is simpler when the brain is cooperating with itself, and the brain and the body are cooperating with each other.
Motivation
One of the things that parents and or spouses complain about is the lack of motivation of their child or partner. Motivation is simply misunderstood. Most people are motivated for things that are attractive to them. A child may not be motivated to do math or similar, but very motivated to do a video game, or eat food they crave. The problem is they have misdirected motivation. Their desires and patterns are immature because they are replacing positive learning experiences and enriching relationship communications for the easy, less difficult options.
We look at motivation, from several views. One, motivation can be viewed as an avoidance issue, so we approach brain integration from that view. Since we look at the combination of Eastern and Western views, we look through these lenses at integrating pathways that support the body and the neurology. Two, nutrition can affect the body, which directly affects the brain. Poor nutrition often leads to poor motivation. Three, left and right brain integration issues make it much more difficult to stay on task, thus decreasing motivation to keep trying.
Our program looks at the current state of the child/adult. We look at their current learning style, their sensory integration state, their goals, the state of their brain integration, coordination, behavior, and understanding of communication.
We use information from current scientific research, sensory integration, learning techniques, traditional chinese medicine, and brain integration techniques. Our sessions are designed with the person in mind and their needs. We believe in personal transformation, so we encourage the child/adult to embrace new awareness, new habits, and personal growth exercises.
We encourage choice. Helping the individual choose learning, choose values, choose to communicate, choose to care and share. When the brain, the heart, and the body are integrated, it facilitates life.
Learning is part of the amazing discovery of life that can happen everyday in your life.
